Malfoy Family

Malfoy Family
Another day, and more inroads into my collection of models from the evil side of Knight Models Harry Potter miniatures game. Not exactly how I expected to spend the last couple of days, but then the box is almost empty now.

I heard you liked highlighting black cloth so I thought I would bring you a miniature that was just 90% black cloth. Seriously I looked up some reference material. No texture. No nothing. Just a void. I tried to make up for it by doing a really good job on the face. I think I managed, but I am fairly unhappy with the photo.

A bit more of interest here with the brown trim and the white shirt. I flatter myself I think I did a pretty good job on the face and hair here also. I really do like the knight models sculpts, or at least the ones based on specific actors. (Not the terebad dementor from yesterday) The faces are so finely sculpted, but somehow paintable. Really no complaints about this miniture. Just, again, my rant about costumes that look good on the big screen not being the most interesting models.

Narcissa
Well. This one took me about 10 minutes of looking at the photo the sculptor used for reference and going 'what the hell colour is that dress'. I went for rakarth flesh with a nuln oil gloss wash, and a rakarth flesh highlight. I think I stand by that decision. I did a second highlight on her black outer robe of thunderhawk blue because the amount of movement seemed to warrant the extra effort.
