750 Points of Sisters.

Seraphim
I've now finished the 250 point chunk of Sisters of Battle that I aimed to have painted in March, meaning I can move on to the 250 point chunk I aimed to get paint in April. Getting there.

The Seraphim are the ones from the starter set, although slightly converted with some inferno pistols from the multi-part kit to make them a little more interesting (and competitive). I will build that box as Zeraphim in some future months who cant use inferno pistols. Happily, the Sisters are really easy to convert because you can cut off the entire hands at the leather gauntlet/glove and not have to worry about much of a seem. Painting wise much the same as every other sister with the added faff of the clear flying stands meaning you cant mount them in painting handles, so I kept rubbing off paint with my stupid hand. Power Sword and plasma glow on the sister superior were interesting to paint. I think both turned out rather well.

Rhino
I decided that this month was the month to add the transports to the squads I had already completed. I've sort of lot count of the number of MkIIc Rhinos I have built over the years since the kit came out but it must be quite a few. The new Sisters Accessory sprue is pretty nice but it does feel weird to me that GW went down this route rather than something fancier like the Exorcist or Immolator. Painting a black tank has the same problems as ever with the highlights looking weird. I think the Rhino has just enough bling to break up the black. I decided not to do any Chipping on the Rhino as I figured Sisters would maintain their vehicles in an aesthetic as well as practical sense. Did use some weathering powder to get that fresh dirt from the current deployment, I really like how the brown just breaks up the black.

Repressor
I think this is the third coat of paint this tank has had, fortunately, its quite flat so there isn't a lot of fine detail to be lost. I had to bring it up to date with the new colour scheme the studio has for Order of Our Martyred Lady tanks, the red stripe seems to have gone. The Repressor is in a weird spot because it has been out of production for quite so long, but I still think its an interesting kit. Decided to weather up the scoop/ram a fair bit more than the rest of the tank because I can't see how something as industrial looking at that would be kept looking pristine, and hopefully, it adds a bit of contrast.

  1. Howdy! I could have sworn I've been to your blog before but after looking at many of the articles I realized it's new to me. Nonetheless, I'm certainly delighted I found it and I'll be bookmarking it and checking back often!
