Age of Sigmar: Skirmish

I know, it's strange. Everyones excited about 8th edition 40k, and here I am painting up some Age of Sigmar stuff.

However, I quite like the skirmish ruleset and I think it's a really good introduction to wargaming in general.

With that in mind, we will be playing some games as a family, my wife is painting up some Seraphon and my 7 year old is painting up some Ironjaws.

I will have photographs of both of these on my blog. However, for now I am bringing you my 50 renown Deathrattle warband.

Deathrattle Warband

I decided to do a deathrattle warband because I think skeletons are really really cool. I used to have an undead army way way back, and then when Tomb Kings came along they kind of claimed all the skeleton units and I was never a big fan of the egypt theme. Also, it's very different from any of the 40k aesthetics.
Wight King with Baleful Tomb Blade

I like this model a lot. He's a little bit lord of the rings, perhaps, but he also looks so pleased to be animated again. He has an integrated square base, so I had to cut a lot of that away to mount him on his round base. Think I managed that ok.

Grave Guard

These guys are rather cool. I think they make good henchmen for the leader.

Black Knights
Not very black these black knights, but I gave them their black bat-skin bits.

Skeleton Warriors
Finally the standard Skeleton Warriors. A nice little kit with some really characterful parts. I kind of miss the old GW kits were you were encouraged to mix and match more.

Not sure how I would cope with the numbers of these guys you would need to play a full game of age of sigmar.
